The Energy Division of Nuova C.R.I.P. (LC Energia) carries out the revamping of an air conditioning system at a major building complex in Milan.
Milan, 4 July 2024 - The new air-conditioning system for the ORTLES skyscraper, located in the centre of Milan, has been completed and delivered. This project represents a significant step towards sustainability and improved comfort for the building's occupants.
Designed with the aim of increasing energy efficiency and reducing CO2 emissions, the new air conditioning system reflects the city of Milan's commitment to a greener future. The system uses advanced technologies to ensure optimal climate control while minimising environmental impact.
The realisation of this ambitious project was possible thanks to the collaboration between some of the most competent companies in the field of engineering and environmental technologies:
The revamping was carried out by replacing an old chiller unit with a new Viessmann heat pump - Vitocal 100-A PRO AA-BB 300-R452 Air/Water in class A, equipped with axial fans, scroll compressors and plate heat exchanger with 300 kW thermal capacity in a silenced version, double pump and antifreeze resistors. The installation took place at a height of 40 metres, with the construction on site of a basement with a cantilevered parapet for safe maintenance.
The new facility brings numerous benefits to the occupants of the high-rise building, including:
The delivery of the new air conditioning system for the ORTLES skyscraper represents an important milestone for LC Energia in energy efficiency, thanks to the adoption of sustainable technological solutions. This project places the ORTLES skyscraper at the forefront of urban innovation, offering a virtuous example for other structures.
